Design Process

My approach for visual design projects involves five stages, to nail the right outcome for you.

Design Process

1. Proposal

After contacting me for a design project, I will  get acquainted with you and discuss the scope of your project and timeline. Afterwards, I will draw up a contract and if agreed, a 40% deposit of quoted price in the contract is required to kick off.

The remaining 60% is payable after the work is completed, but before it is delivered.

2. Research

Design research is one of my important aspects of design. Although the scope varies from project to project, it is required to achieve the best for your project. I will ask you a series of questions to better understand your history, target audience, competitors, comparable brands, among others.

This is all to tailor an experience that portrays your vision to the world.

3. Concepts

With these directions that I have established with you, I will proceed to create concepts of your project. These will be presented to you in watermarked images or mockups for your review.

In this stage, you get to choose what design works best for you, and get to add or remove elements based on your visual needs. Where I detect that the addition or removal of any element will not be in your best interest, I will advice accordingly.

4. Refinements

The concepts pitched to you will require refinements. In this stage, the feedback that you’ve given to me will be applied to your chosen concept. In some cases, this will result in a new draft however, it is not open to choices like in the concept stage because it most likely will be your final design look.

PS: Your feedback for refinement will be required in a written format for clarity, so that I do not miss anything out.

5. Launch

Time to show the world!

Your design and all of its components (fonts, vectors, drawings, colours, guidelines, etc.) will be packaged and supplied to you in optimised formats for use online or for printing with your vendor after you have given final approval of all revisions.

Timeframe & Questions

A visual design job will typically take 4-6 weeks to complete. Due to the weight variance in design projects, a timeline will be provided to you at the proposal stage.
